Start: 2:00 pm
This quiet afternoon, we'll sojourn to the northern part of Capitol Hill to hear Corvallis writer Kathleen Dean Moore speak about loss, sustenance, and the transformative power of nature. Frog songs, garter snake gatherings, and the pleasures of making and eating migas are just some of the inspirations for the essays in her new book, Wild Comfort: The Solace of Nature (Trumpeter/Shambhala). "Wild Comfort is a richly poetic book, tipsy with life, and Moore is a wonderful guide to the wilderness and our own wildness." – Diane Ackerman. Trinity Lutheran Church is at 1200 Tenth Avenue East (at Highland), quite near Volunteer Park.
