ANNAH ANTI-PALINDROME, LEAH LAKSHMI PIEPZNA-SAMARASINHA, IMANI SIMS & AMBER DAWN

Bay Area-based queer poet and sound artist Annah Anti-Palindrome performs work from her first book, DNA Hymn (Sibling Rivalry Press) this evening. Her performance includes live, musical soundscapes made with a loop pedal, kitchen utensils, gas-masks, raw eggs, blood pressure cuffs, found objects, her body and more! She speaks from a “rural, working-class, JewWitch, queer-femme survivor identity.” Two noted Northwest poets read with her:  Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha, author of the Lambda Literary Award finalist, Dirty River: a Queer Femme of Color Dreaming Her Way Home (Arsenal Pulp Press), and Imani Sims, author of (A)live Heart (Sibling Rivalry Press). Also part of the program is Vancouver based writer and writing teacher, Amber Dawn, whose most recent book is Where the Words End and My Body Begins (Arsenal Pulp Press). Her previous books include Subrosa, a Lambda Literary Award winner.
