BRAD GOOCH at Seattle First Baptist Church

Co-presented with SEATTLE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH.

Brad Gooch, acclaimed author of Smash Cut, Flannery, and City Poet speaks about his book, Rumi’s Secret: The Life of the Sufi Poet of Love (Harper) the first popular biography of the beloved thirteenth-century poet Rumi. Rumi has been compared to Shakespeare and to Saint Francis of Assisi, yet little is known in the West of the historical Rumi, who lived in times as filled with conflict as our own.

“An excellent and accessible introduction to the profound and generous mystical vision of Rumi that will give Western readers a much needed insight into the true spirituality of Islam. ” — Karen Armstrong, author of A History of God.
