Here from his London home is one of the most dazzling fiction writers at work today, China Miéville, with a book that is brilliantly, decidedly non-fiction. Recipient of the Arthur C. Clarke Award and other honors for his many novels and stories, China Miéville is also a serious writer of Marxist thought and history. He is here this evening for his new book, October: The Story of the Russian Revolution (Verso). Seattle journalist Monica Guzman, editor and cofounder of Evergrey will be with him in onstage conversation, as they discuss what was happening one hundred years ago right now, written of with narrative flair and passion in his book.
