ELIZA REID & TREE SWENSON on ICELAND, SEATTLE, WRITING, READING
Co-presented with SEATTLE CITY OF LITERATURE and HUGO HOUSE. What should be an enlivening and enlightening conversation takes place here as Eliza Reid, co-founding director of the Iceland Writers Retreat, and a magazine editor, will talk about Iceland’s robust storytelling culture and its great affinity for the connected acts of reading and writing. She is here from Reykjavik, which is the first non-English-speaking city to be included in the UNESCO City of Literature program, a designation Seattle is working to achieve. With her in conversation is Tree Swenson, executive director of Hugo House and part of the advisory board of Seattle City of Literature.
