Martha Nussbaum

One of this country’s most eminent philosophers, Martha Nussbaum makes this welcome Seattle appearance for her newest work, Aging Thoughtfully: Conversations About Retirement, Romance, Wrinkles, and Regret (Oxford University Press). Composed as a dialogue with University of Chicago law professor Saul Levermore, Martha Nussbaum, herself the Ernst Freund Distinguished Service Professor of Law and Ethics at the University of Chicago, in this book explores how we age psychologically, philosophically, physically, and practically. Among her many other books are The Fragility of Goodness: Luck and Ethics in Greek Tragedy and Philosophy, Cultivating Humanity, Sex and Social Justice, Hiding from Humanity, and From Disgust to Humanity.
