Graphic novelist Peter Bagge speaks about his second biographical work, Fire!!  The Zora Neale Hurston Story (Drawn & Quarterly) in this evening that will be moderated by Renee Simms, professor of African American studies at the University of Puget Sound. Peter Bagge, whose work includes Woman Rebel: the Margaret Sanger Story and the Buddy Bradley comics, tells the story of the folklorist, novelist and acclaimed novelist of Their Eyes Were Watching God in full color comics form, including her education at Howard University and at Barnard College, her adventures during the Harlem Renaissance and the setbacks that led to her dying in obscurity.
