DONNA MISCOLTA with ANNA BALINT & KATHLEEN FLENNIKEN Tuesday, April 8 at 6 p.m.
"LIFE LESSONS" co-sponsored by 4CULTURE and HEDGEBROOK. This group reading highlights Seattle fiction writer and poet Donna Miscolta, along with Seattle fiction writer/teacher Anna Balint and Seattle poet/editor Kathleen Flenniken, all in a program supported by King County's public art program, 4Culture. Donna Miscolta has a story collection-in-progress, and has had stories published in Raven Chronicles, Americas Review, New Millennium Writing, and more. She has received writing awards from 4Culture, Artist Trust, Seattle City
Artists, and others. Anna Balint's most recent book is the terrific story collection, Horse Thief (Curbstone). She also co-edited the 1991 anthology, Poets Against the War. Kathleen Flenniken is the co-editor of Floating Bridge Press. Her recent poetry collection, Famous (University of Nebraska) won the 2005 Prairie Schooner Prize and was named a "Notable Book of the Year" by the American Library Association. All of these writers have read here before - but never together like this. This should be a pleasure. Hedgebrook is co-presenting this reading as part of its Women Authoring Change
Reading Series (funded in part by the Mayor's Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs).
