A veteran reporter and news anchor at both CBS and NBC at a time when broadcast television news was at its peak, Roger Mudd tells the story of TV journalism as it once was, and show what it is missing today. In The Place to Be: Washington, CBS and the Glory Days of Television News (Public Affairs), he describes the rivalries, egos, pride, competition, ambitions, and frustrations of conveying the world to a national television audience in thirty minutes, less commercial time. He has some stories to tell, too. $5 at the door (no advance tickets), with preferred seating for Town Hall members.
