EILEEN DELEHANTY PEARKES
Sunday, April 6 at 4:30 p.m.

Co-presented with the CANADIAN STUDIES CENTER, JACKSON SCHOOL OF INTERNATIONAL STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON. Eileen Delehanty Pearkes' spiritual memoir, The Glass Seed: The Fragile Beauty of Heart, Mind and Memory (Timeless), begins with her mother's increasing loss of memory due to Alzheimer's—and its effect on her emotional connection with her daughter. Set in the mountains of British Columbia and drawing from mythology, history, and literature, this book is both a meditation on womanhood, and a reflection on healing. Eileen Pearkes is also the author of The Geography of Memory, and a contributor to ascent magazine.
