JOHN MOE Tuesday, December 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Who better than Seattle liberal John Moe to take a walk on the Red State side? He's here tonight to report on six weeks of cultural immersion: visiting the National Young Republican convention, hanging out at Michael Medved's radio show, checking out the most pro-Bush state (in 2004, at least) and more, all analyzed with wit, conscience, and more than a little poking of fun at his fellow liberals in his funny (and prescient) book, Conservatize Me: How I Tried to Become a Righty with the Help of Richard Nixon, Sean Hannity, Toby Keith, and Beef Jerky (William Morrow). John Moe is, of course, host of KUOW-94.9's "The Works" and is a regular contributor to "All Things Considered," "Weekend America," and McSweeneys.net. "John Moe's heart of darkness journey into the reddest recesses of the states we currently still call 'united' is hilarious, enlightening, and wonderfully humane. He may yet save the union." - John Hodgman. Local freelance writer and "Tricks of the Trade" blogger Matthew Baldwin will also be on hand, joining John Moe tonight.
