Co-presented by the PUGET SOUND UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST COUNCIL, ACLU OF WASHINGTON, AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL PUGET SOUND, AMERICAN FRIENDS SERVICE COMMITTEE and HATE FREE ZONE. Dr. William F. Schulz, former executive director of Amnesty International USA, will explore the origins of the deteriorating reputation of the U.S. in the world since 2001, and possible remedies in this public talk, entitled "Restoring America's Good Name Abroad." Dr. Schulz, an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister, is the author of In Our Own Best Interests: How Defending Human Rights Benefits Us All (Beacon) and Tainted Legacy: 9-11 and the Ruins of Human Rights (Nation Books). "William Schulz has done more than anyone in the American human rights movement to make human rights issues known in the United States." - The New York Times.
