LAWRENCE E. MITCHELL
Monday, February 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall Seattle, 1119 Eighth Avenue

Co-presented with the TOWN HALL CENTER FOR CIVIC LIFE. George Washington University law professor Lawrence Mitchell traces the rise of what he calls 'American corporate capitalism' in The Speculation Economy (Berrett-Koehler). He considers how the current American financial model rewards short-term gain in stock prices over the long-term health of business, and traces the identifiable political and economic forces that have shaped the economic model of our time. $5 tickets at the door (no advance). Preferred seating for Town Hall members. Town Hall Seattle is located at 1119 Eighth Avenue (entry on Seneca). For more on this evening, please see www.townhallseattle.org or call (206) 652-4255.
