JIM WALLIS Friday, February 1 at 7 p.m. at Seattle First Baptist Church, 1111 Harvard Avenue
Presented as part of the SEATTLE SPIRITUAL SYNTHESIS series with SEATTLE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH. Sojourner's founder and Christian progressive political activist Jim Wallis returns to Seattle and First Baptist tonight to urge the nation to rediscover its moral center. The Great Awakening: Reviving Faith and Politics in a Post-Religious Right America (HarperOne) continues the conversation Jim Wallis began with God's Politics. He argues that the combination of personal faith and political justice that helped bring about the abolition of slavery, the civil rights movement, and the peace movement, is necessary today as Americans work to overcome partisanship in order to work for the common good. Free, no advance tickets. Seattle First Baptist Church is located at 1111 Harvard Avenue (at Union). For more information on this evening, please call Elliott Bay at (206) 624-6600. Please also join us for another Seattle First Baptist Spiritual Synthesis program on Thursday, February 28, when Garry Wills discusses his new book, What the Gospels Meant.
