SHANNON BORG, LORA LEA MISTERLY, KÄREN JURGENSEN & HARLEY SOLTES Saturday, January 31 at 2 p.m.
Chefs, farmers, students, food writers, restauranteurs, and the enthusiastic consumers of fresh, locally sourced, delicious food have come together at Quillisascut Farm in Rice, Washington, to learn about the relationship of farm, table, and land. Chefs on the Farm: Recipes and Inspiration from the Quillisascut Farm School of the Domestic Arts (Mountaineers) tells the story of this small, family-run farm, which has become a place for celebrating and promoting delicious, local, sustainable food culture. On hand today to speak about the farm and school, and to share cheese samples are author, and former Slow Food Seattle board member Shannon Borg, farmer/cheesemaker Lora Lea Misterly (a founder/leader of Slow Food Upper Columbia), chef Kären Jurgensen (founder of the Seattle chapter of Chefs Collaborative and creator of the book's recipes), and award-winning photographer Harley Soltes. Please join us to learn more about the Quilliascut Farm School and about the Slow Food movement in our region. For more information, please also see www.quilliasascut.com.
