ELLIOTT BAY GLOBAL ISSUES & ETHICS BOOK GROUP
Tuesday, July 11 at 6:30 p.m.

Our Global Issues & Ethics Book Group is devoted to discussing books that cover the most relevant topics of our everyday lives. Our selection this month is Pathologies of Power: Health, Human Rights and the New War on the Poor by Paul Farmer. Dr. Paul Farmer is one of the foremost crusaders for world healthcare, particularly among the poorest people, and a tireless worker for social equality and justice. Tracy Kidder (author of Mountains Beyond Mountains: The Quest of Dr. Paul Farmer, a Man Who Would Cure the World) decribes Pathologies of Power as "an eloquent plea for a working definition of human rights that would not neglect the most basic rights of all: food, shelter and health."
