Two of the newest books from the intrepid enterprise that is McSweeney's are showcased here tonight—and quite different books they are. (And yes, they are strikingly made.) Dustin Long is the author of Icelander, a morality mystery with cloak and dagger intrigues that has a true "Heroine" at its heart, and Nordic lore galore. Evany Thomas can read from the scintillating little tome that is The Secret Language of Sleep: A Couple's Guide to the Thirty-Nine Positions (illustrated by Amelia Bauer)—then again, if a bed's at hand, some of the positions set out could actually be demonstrated. We suspect those here will be left to their imaginations on that front—but bedtime for real is not too far off in time. This night should be fun.
