One of this country's most esteemed authorsand one particularly cherished by Seattle readers, as the first "Seattle Reads" author a decade ago, Russell Banks makes this most welcome return to Seattle. While he has had a new novel, The Reserve (HarperCollins), released since his last visit, it is for his first work of nonfiction, Dreaming Up in America (Seven Stories), that he is here tonight. "Two years ago, novelist Banks was interviewed by French television for a documentary about American history. His testimony so impressed Banks's French publisher that he made a book out of his remarks ... Now Banks's words have returned stateside." -Publishers Weekly.
