DAVID SMITH-FERRI

Co-presented with the WASHINGTON CENTER FOR THE BOOK, WESTERN WASHINGTON FELLOWSHIP OF RECONCILIATION, AMERICAN FRIENDS SERVICE COMMITTEE (SEATTLE CHAPTER), SOUND NONVIOLENT OPPONENTS OF WAR, INTERFAITH NETWORK OF CONCERNED CITIZENS FOR IRAQ, and others. Poet and activist David Smith-Ferri shows slides, tells stories, and reads poetry from his book, Battlefield without Borders (Haley's Press), which was inspired by visits to Iraq in 1999 and 2002. His poems and essays have appeared in Z Magazine, Yes!, The Other Side, and CounterPunch. He is also a member of Voices in the Wilderness. Part of the proceeds from book sales benefit Direct Aid Initiative. Free admission is on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Seattle Public Central Library is located at 1000 Fourth Avenue (between Madison & Spring).
