VICTORIA ROWELL Wednesday, May 2 at 6 p.m.
Victoria Rowell, perhaps best known for portraying Drucilla Barber Winters on The Young and the Restless, but also for her other roles on stage and screen, an Emmy Award-winner, onetime American Ballet Theater dancer, NAACP Image Award-winner (eleven times), and Annie E. Casey Foundation spokesperson, spent years of her childhood life in the foster care system. She tells her story, and that of the women who cared for her as foster mothers, mentors, teachers, and friends in her moving autobiography, The Women Who Raised Me: A Memoir (Morrow). "To know her personally or through this [book] is to be enriched beyond belief. I hope all who read come this way as I have with a renewed commitment to life and others." - Samuel L. Jackson.
