In twenty-something journalist Daniel Brook's first book, The Trap: Selling Out to Stay Afloat in Winner-Take-All America (new in paper, Holt), he asks what are we losingas individuals and as a countrywhen the best and the brightest cannot afford to serve the public good. He presents an indictment of the current economic and political landscape that has dramatically widened the pay chasm between jobs in the corporate sector, and those in public, creative, and nonprofit work. $5 at the door (no advance tickets), with preferred seating for Town Hall members.
