"The Akashic All-Stars" with CHRIS ABANI, FELICIA LUNA LEMUS & JOE MENO Monday, October 8 at 7:30 p.m.
Help celebrate Akashic Press' first ten years of publishing tonight as we welcome three of this lively independent press' most well-known authors to Elliott Bay. Chris Abani, once a political prisoner in Nigeria, now a writer and teacher at UCLA, and whose readings here from such novels as GraceLand and The Virgin of Flames, have drawn admiring audiences, is back with a new novella, Song for Night. Felicia Luna Lemus, a Mexican American writer with Orange County roots, is back with her new second novel, Like Son. And Joe Meno, a 2003 Nelson Algren Award-winner and author of several books, including Hairstyles of the Damned, will be here with the new paperback of Tender as Hellfire.
