MICHAEL DALEY & TIM McNULTY Friday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m.
Two fine Northwest poets who have honed their art for decades, Michael Daley and Tim McNulty, make this welcome appearance here this evening. Michael Daley is here with a new
book of poems, To Curve (Word Press), his second poetry collection in 25 years. "Michael Daley shows us over and over what it means to be 'painfully awake' in the world. He has an uncanny eye for presenting the telling details of the present, but also for visiting the past. Not content with elegies, he brings the dead forward, listens to them again, and integrates them into the now. This is no crazy quilt of poetry, but carefully ordered swatches that form the pattern of a single poem." – Samuel Green. Tim McNulty is known for both his poetry and prose. His poetry includes In Blue Mountain Dusk, Last Year's Poverty, and Through High Still Air, A Season at Sourdough Mountain. His prose includes Olympic National Park: A Natural History and Washington's Wild Rivers. Both have work in the recently released, revised edition of the anthology, Working the Woods, Working the Sea (Empty Bowl).
