CHRISTOPHER KIMBALL Tuesday, October 14 at 7 p.m. at Microsoft Auditorium, Seattle Public Central Library, 1000 Fourth Avenue
Co-presented with the WASHINGTON CENTER FOR THE BOOK AT THE SEATTLE PUBLIC LIBRARY. Christopher Kimball, host of PBS' long-running cooking program, "America's Test Kitchen," travels to Seattle to talk about two new cookbooks, both of which are already garnering rave reviews. The America's Test Kitchen Family Baking Book is a companion to the popular America's Test Kitchen Family Cookbook, and Cook's Country Cookbook (both from America's Test Kitchen), is Cook's Country's debut collection of regional and heirloom recipes. "While the tone of the book is decidedly technical, the vibe isn't cold. And the info-packed instructions, with details on ingredients and equipment (the editors get specific and suggest their tried and true favorite brands) is worth reading carefully." - Publishers Weekly, on The Family Baking Book. Free admission is on a first-come, first-serve, space-available basis. The Seattle Public Central Library is located at 1000 Fourth Avenue (between Madison & Spring). Limited parking in the Central Library garage will be available for a $5 special event rate. For more information, please call Elliott Bay at (206) 624-6600, The Seattle Public Library at (206) 386-4636, or see www.spl.org.
