Presented by REACT THEATRE. Our Ninth Annual Staged Play Reading Series officially kicks off on a grand note with this presentation of David Lindsay-Abaire's newest play. The winner of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rabbit Hole is the marvelous new play about what comes after tragedy. A story of loss, heartbreak and forgivenesstold through daily moments and emotional hurdlesas a family moves on after the accidental death of their 4-year-old son. WILD GEESE PLAYERS presents ULYSSES, Chapter 14 Saturday, June 14 at 4:30 p.m.
Co-presented with THE WILD GEESE PLAYERS. The Wild Geese Players of Seattle present a public reading of a chapter from James Joyce's Ulysses, in an early celebration of Bloomsday (officially June 16). Chapter 14, "Oxen of the Sun," begins with Leopold Bloom's visit to the maternity hospital where poor Mina Purefoy endures her third day of labor in the company of a group of drunken medical students. of Tony Kushner's Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece, Angels in America, Part 1: Millennium Approaches. At it's core, this Gay Fantasia on national themes tells the story of
two couples whose relationships are disintegrating, set in America in the 1980s against a backdrop of greed, conservatism, sexual politics, and the
discovery of AIDS. It is this backdrop that provides the show its magnitude and sets it apart from other epic dramas. Please join us for this unique blend
of the spoken word and theatrical staging...and don't miss the rest of our staged readings taking place at the bookstore later this year. Admission ($8)
