Bobby, a multiracial Puerto Rican and black teenager, struggles with his identity, his sexuality, and the deaths of of his and older brother in Peter Bacho's new young adult novel, Leaving Yesler (Pleasure Boat Studio). Set in Seattle in 1968 in Seattle's iconic Yesler Terrace Housing Project, Chinatown and the South End, Leaving Yesler is also an insightful portrait of Seattle's Filipino American community.
