Co-presented with FANTAGRAPHICS. The wordless adventures of Frank, an inhabitant of the surreal and unpredictable world called the Unifactor, began (at least in print) in 1990, and have continued through an extraordinary series of comics and collected stories. These now appear in the much-anticipated, first full-length Frank graphic novel, Congress of Animals (Fantagraphics). In Congress of the Animals, Frank leaves the Unifactor and heads into even harder times than beforeif that can be imagined. (It is, and brilliantly.) Previous Frank collections include The Frank Book and Portable Frank. The person behind all of this, Seattle artist and graphic novelist Jim Woodring is a master, recipient of a 2010 Stranger Genius Award, and more. It's a pleasure to finally have him here at Elliott Bay. "Jim Woodring may be the most important cartoonist of his generation. The Frank stories are masterpieces, each and every one. Read them. Re-read them. Re-re-read them. Every cell in your body will remember this spellbinding, visionary work." – Scott McCloud.
