An Evening with LAILA LALAMI at Benaroya Hall |
Presented by SEATTLE ARTS & LECTURES, sponsored by the WASHINGTON CENTER FOR THE BOOK AT THE SEATTLE PUBLIC LIBRARY. Laila Lalami brings to a noteworthy conclusion not only her much-anticipated string of visits as the author of this year's Seattle Reads selection, Secret Son (Algonquin), but also Seattle Arts & Lectures' 2009-10 Literary Lecture Series season. Earlier listings here have made note about her writing (see May 7). To add here, Laila Lalami is one of the most astute, lively chroniclers of contemporary international fiction at work today. Her early blog, Moorish Girl (now grown to www.lailalalami.com), was a pioneer of its kind, with clippings, commentaries, and reviews from all over the worldand yet brought home. She is one of those who helps make much-needed connections. Tickets are available via www.lectures.org (or call (206) 621-2230). Benaroya Hall is at 200 University Street.
