BRENDA MILLER & SHEILA BENDER |
Co-presented with HEDGEBROOK. This early Sunday evening, we welcome two western Washington writers appreciated for their skillful mentoring of other writers as well as for their highly regarded, spiritually-informed poetry and prose. Brenda Miller, whose last book, Blessing of the Animals, was a Washington State Book Award finalist, reads from her new essay collection, Listening Against the Stone (Skinner House Press). Sheila Bender, a popular presenter at Seattle University's Search for Meaning conferences, is the author of the new book, A New Theology: Turning to Poetry in a Time of Grief (Imago Press), and the editor of WritingItReal.com.
