THE HUGO LITERARY SERIES presents "TRUTH OR DARE" at Richard Hugo House

10/23/2009 7:30 pm
Presented by RICHARD HUGO HOUSE.The third season of Hugo House's popular quarterly literary series begins with Truth or Dare. Yes, that game you played as a teenager when you had to either truthfully answer an embarrassing question, or else perform an embarrassing act. Our teen years behind us (some of us) now, but the old game continues—with the stakes higher. Performing (reading or playing) newly made work tonight are REBECCA BROWN, whose twelfth book is the recently published essay collection, American Romance (City Lights); KERI HEALEY, writer, director, and actor, whose plays include Don't You Dare Love Me, The Ikea Cycle: Tiny Domestic Dramas, and Ikea Bedtime Stories (co-written with Bret Fetzer); and ERIC McHENRY, whose 2006 collection Potscrubber Lullabies (The Waywise Press), won the Anthony Hecht Prize and was a finalist for a Washington State Book Award. Also very much part of the program is Capitol Hill-based hip hop artist Macklemore with new songs. For tickets (single night or season tickets) and information, please see www.hugohouse.org or call (206) 322-7030. Richard Hugo House is at 1634 Eleventh Avenue.
