Cave Canem Fellow January Gil O'Neil's poetry collection, Underlife (CavanKerry Press) was named both a finalist for ForeWord Review's Book of the Year Award, and for the 2010 Paterson Poetry Prize. A past recipient of the Money for Women/Barbara Deming Memorial Fund grant, she writes about the dynamics of family, race, career, and transformation. Seattle poet Susan Rich, author most recently of The Alchemist's Kitchen (White Pine Press), just named a 2011 Washington State Book Awards finalist, joins her for this reading.
