The Philip K. Dick Awards

This award was founded by Thomas M. Disch who was inspired to do so at the Norwescon Science Fiction Convention following Philip K. Dick's death in 1982 at the age of 57. It is presented annually at the Norwescon Convention held in the spring for distinguished science fiction published for the first time in the United States as a paperback original. The award is selected by a panel of five judges who in turn nominate their own successors for the following year's panel.
