Racism is everywhere, so ingrained as to be unnoticeable. I've come to realize—on all sides of this issue—if you're not talking about it then you are probably part of the problem. Black Like Me is the story of a white man who took an extremely controversial step to gain a new perspective on the matter of race.

I can't help but wonder as to why I had not read this book sooner, for the experience has left my mind in such upheaval, and has sparked a desire to read more about race issues of the past and those which still persist in our society.
