Authors Guild Meeting

The Seattle Chapter of the Authors Guild is pleased to present an afternoon with literary agents Clelia Gore and Elizabeth Wales as they reveal their insights into trends and opportunities in the traditional publishing world. Clelia Gore leads the children's and young adult division of the Seattle-based agency Martin Literary & Media Management. A former attorney originally from the suburbs of New York City, she represents picture books and middle grade and young adult fiction and nonfiction.

Elizabeth Wales is the owner and principal agent of Wales Literary Agency, established in 1990. Subjects of interest for the agency are mainstream and literary fiction, graphic novels, narrative-driven nonfiction and memoirs—with particular emphasis on science, nature, social justice, politics, health, food writing, and culture.

Their discussion will be followed by a moderated question-and-answer session and a social hour. All working writers, both members and non-members, are welcome. Please note: pitches are not accepted during the meeting. The Authors Guild is the nation’s oldest and largest professional organization for writers.
