Brad Holden with Tom Heuser

Seattle historian and collector Brad Holden visits us today to speak about his new book, Seattle Prohibition: Bootleggers, Rumrunners and Graft in the Queen City (History Press). This evening’s talk is focused on the Prohibition Era history of Seattle’s Capitol Hill, a longtime center of Seattle nightlife. Tonight’s program includes slides and many stories about our city’s most notorious moonshiners and bootleggers and those trying to enforce the law.  Brad Holden will appear in conversation with Tom Heuser, co-founder of the Capitol Historical Society. This is a great opportunity to hear more about the work of the Capitol Hill Historical Society, a group working toward deepening our understanding of Capitol Hill. They have also become involved in historic preservation efforts. Find out more about our neighborhood at www.capitolhillpast.org.

Co-presented with the Capitol Hill Historical Society.
