Eric Liu

Seattle writer Eric Liu envisions a civic revival in our nation. His new book, Become America: Civic Sermons on Love, Responsibility, and Democracy (Sasquatch) collects 19 of Eric Liu's civic sermons—stirring explorations of current and timeless topics about democracy, liberty, equal justice, and civic life-delivered at Civic Saturdays in Seattle and beyond. Tonight, he will reflect back on these beginnings, drawing from his civic sermons and the many connections he’s made through his work with Citizen University.

Eric Liu is the founder and CEO of Citizen University and executive director of the Aspen Institute Citizenship and American Identity Program. He is the author of several books, including You’re More Powerful Than You Think. He is a regular columnist for CNN.com and a correspondent for TheAtlantic.com. After a short talk and reading, there will be an audience Q&A and a book signing. Elliott Bay Book Company hosted the first ever Civic Saturday (on November 16, 2016) and we’re proud to co-present tonight’s event. Please join us!

Co-presented by SASQUATCH BOOKS, TOWN HALL SEATTLE, and ELLIOTT BAY BOOK COMPANY.  Free. Pre-registration requested, click here. Washington Hall is at 153 14th Avenue.
