Co-presented with TOWN HALL CIVICS Series.

This evening features Hedrick Smith, one of this country’s leading, truly legendary journalists, a recipient of numerous honors, including the Pulitzer Prize. Starting with The New York Times in 1962, he has covered many of the central stories of our times, including the Vietnam War, the Pentagon Papers, the Soviet Union, and more. This evening’s program is occasioned by the state of things now, as it is titled, ‘The Populist Earthquake of 2016 + Its Aftershocks.’ Hedrick Smith’s most recent books are Who Stole the American Dream and The Power Game: How Washington Works (both Ballantine).

“Remarkably comprehensive and coherent analysis of and prescriptions for America’s contemporary economic malaise… Fascinating detail…Brilliant analysis… one of the best recent analyses of the contemporary woes of American economics and politics.” - Kirkus Reviews on Who Stole the American Dream?.
