Marc Vassallo’s book, Little House in the City: Living Small Within City Limits (Taunton) presents 37 houses (500-1800 sq. ft) from across the United States and Canada, including infill houses built on odd lots or in place of derelict houses, remodeled city houses that remain small, and backyard dwellings known as ADUs (for Accessory Dwelling Units). The featured houses showcase smart design ideas for making the most of small houses in tight quarters (and that is certainly us, whether on Capitol Hill or nearby Seattle neighborhoods). He has taken his presentation to architects at AIA and his work was featured in The Seattle Times. Tonight he’ll show slides and answer your questions about building and remodeling your little house.
