We are honored to present this evening with esteemed Iranian poet Mohsen Emadi. The award-winning author of four collections of poetry that have been published in Iran and Spain, he presently lives, writes, and works in exile in Mexico City (he is published in Spanish, too). He is here tonight with the first book of his poetry to be translated into English, Standing on Earth (Phoneme Media). Translated from the Persian by Seattle poet, fiction writer, and translator Lyn Coffin, who will also be on hand this evening.  These are powerful poems of displacement and memory. Among Mohsen Emadi’s many literary endeavors, in addition to writing poems, are his own work as a translator, and as founder and manager of the official website of Ahmad Shamlou, one of Iran’s finest poets of the Twentieth Century. This should be a most extraordinary evening.
