Two years ago Nina Collins started a closed Facebook group for women over 40. She called it “What Would Virginia Woolf Do?” in an ironic nod to a brilliant and witty feminist who killed herself in her 50s. What started as a purely personal attempt to comfort and entertain herself has morphed into a group of 6000+ members, all over the world and across a diverse range of economic and racial spheres, and they talk in the group, in an unusually candid way, about all things that women over 40 care about—bodies, romantic lives, kids (if you have them), careers, literature, politics. It’s an incredibly funny, supportive, and very unusual place where women really get down quickly, to all the things that are rarely spoken of in public. Join her tonight as she discusses her book, What Would Virginia Woolf Do? And Other Questions I Ask Myself As I Attempt to Age Without Apology (Grand Central Publishers).
