Poética sin Fronteras / Poetics without Borders

A Bilingual Group Reading with Moises Himmelfarb, Tony Geist & more.

This special evening brings voices from a new, bilingual anthology of border (Mexico/US border) poetry. Some combination of co-editors and poetic contributors to Poética sin fronteras / Poetics Without Borders are expected to be on hand for this evening, which will be MC’d by Moises Himmelfarb, director of the Mexican Cultural Institute here in Seattle. The anthology itself, coming here from Mexico, features a mix of poets from both sides of the border, established poets and new voices both: Blanca Vázquez, Alexander Tadeuz, Alejandro Aguilar Zeleny, Orlando Carreón, Aisha Rivera, Xulio Soriano, Antonio Chavez y Sanchez, and Julieta Altamirano-Crosby.  Co-editors Julieta Altamirano, Antonio Sanchez, and Tony Geist are expected to be on hand, as is Cuban artist (for the book), Rubén Iglesias.

Co-presented with the MEXICAN CULTURAL INSTITUTE/INSTITUTO CULTURAL MEXICANO. Los paso al norte son peregrinos pasos / Steps North Are Pilgrims’ Steps.
