Postponed - Claudia Castro Luna, Corinne Chin & Erika Schultz
*This event has been postponed.
Earlier this month, on Sunday, March 8 - International Women’s Day - the Seattle Times Sunday Magazine ran a compelling piece of journalism by Times reporters Corinne Chin and Erika Schulz on the situation at the Mexico - U.S. border, in particular the ongoing violence against women in Ciudad Juárez. Supported by the non-profit Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, along with The Seattle Times, their article was inspired in good part by Seattle poet and present Washington State Poet Laureate Claudia Castro Luna and her powerful book of poetry, Killing Marías: A Poem for Multiple Voices (Two Sylvias Press). Today will be a chance for Corinne Chin and Erika Shultz to discuss their work, hear Claudia Castro Luna read from her book, and to talk about the current situation there.
Co-presented by The Seattle Times, the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting and Elliott Bay Book Company, with support from Humanities Washington.
