Sarah de Leeuw with Leanne Dunic
From Prince Rupert, in northern British Columbia, comes poet, prose writer, and cultural scholar Sarah de Leeuw. A professor at the University of Northern British Columbia, her work has focused in great part on marginalized communities, peoples, and geographies. She is here with a beautiful book of new poems, Outside, America (Nightwood Editions). This collection works a little farther south than much of work - traversing the Canada-U.S. border, a border which hasn’t received so much attention in the southern border-obsessed present administration - although onetime presidential candidate Scott Walker did suggest the possibility of a wall on this border.
Sarah de Leeuw is a writer we are excited to be helping present, and introduce to more readers here. Her books should be read, certainly in this part of North America. With her today, down from Vancouver, poet/musician Leanne Dunic, whose book, To Love the Coming End, comes from Chin Music Press of Seattle.
