Saturday University TRANS PLANTS: COLLECTING, GATHERING, AND GLOBALIZING PLANTS Spring Lecture Series.

This morning the Saturday University morning concludes its spring series on plants and culture in Asia, today with Erik Mueggler, professor of anthropology at the University of Michigan, and author of The Paper Road: Archive and Experience in the Botanical Exploration of West China and Tibet (University of California Press), among other works. His lecture today is ‘The Golden Mountain Gate: Text and Experience in the Botanical Exploration of Southwest China.’

Presented by the GARDNER CENTER FOR ASIAN ART AND IDEAS, in partnership with the UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON JACKSON SCHOOL OF INTERNATIONAL STUDIES, SEATTLE UNIVERSITY and ELLIOTT BAY BOOK COMPANY.
