Washington State Book Awards Ceremony, Booksigning, and Reception
Seattle Review of Books’ co-founder Paul Constant will host the 2019 Washington State Book Awards, which will celebrate the top writing (and illustrating, in children’s picture books) for books written by a Washington author and published during the previous year. Awards are given based on books’ literary merit and overall quality in the following categories: Fiction, Poetry, Biography/Memoir and Nonfiction for Adults and Picture Books, Young Readers, Middle Grade and Young Adult for Youth. Finalists were announced in July and winners will be announced during tonight’s ceremonies. We’ll sell books by finalists and winners, and attendees are invited to a public reception and booksigning, which follows the awards.
Presented by THE WASHINGTON CENTER FOR THE BOOK, an affiliate of the Library of Congress’ Center for the Book in partnership with the Seattle Public Library and the Washington State Library. Free admission.
